Ict Cs Nominee Hon. William Kabogo Speaks On Mercy Keino's Tragic Death
Hon. William Kabogo, the ICT CS nominee, has addressed the resurfacing claims linking him to the mysterious death of Mercy Keino, a University of Nairobi student who tragically passed away in 2011. Kabogo has termed these allegations as unfair and misleading, reiterating his non-involvement in the case.
Speaking on the matter, Kabogo stated, "I want to categorically state that I had no involvement in the tragic death of university student Mercy Keino. Her passing was a deeply saddening incident, and I had no role in it. An inquest was conducted, and the findings concluded that Mercy Keino was a victim of a hit-and-run accident."
Kabogo further clarified that he only became aware of Mercy Keino’s death two weeks after her burial, emphasizing that he sympathizes with her family. "I heard of her death two weeks after she was buried. It's a sad story. I had nothing to do with it. I sympathize with her family," he said.
The incident, which occurred after Mercy Keino attended a party at a Nairobi restaurant, led to her body being discovered on the road. The inquest that followed ruled her death as a hit-and-run accident, closing any links to foul play involving Kabogo.
As the ICT CS nominee, Kabogo's comments aim to clarify his position amid renewed public interest in the case. His statement underscores his intent to focus on his duties and dispel any misconceptions regarding the tragic event.
